Analytics

Portfolio analysis

A common application of business analytics is portfolio analysis. In this, a bank or lending agency has a collection of accounts of varying value and risk. The accounts may differ by the social status (wealthy, middle-class, poor, etc.) of the holder, the geographical location, its net value, and many other factors. The lender must balance the return on the loan with the risk of default for each loan. The question is then how to evaluate the portfolio as a whole. The least risk loan may be to the very wealthy, but there are a very limited number of wealthy people. On the other hand there are many poor that can be lent to, but at greater risk. Some balance must be struck that maximizes return and minimizes risk. The analytics solution may combine time series analysis with many other issues in order to make decisions on when to lend money to these different borrower segments, or decisions on the interest rate charged to members of a portfolio segment to cover any losses among members in that segment.

End-user information delivery

A collaborative approach

Use of knowledge management, content management, and portals is the key to sharing information in a collaborative environment. Your purpose should be to bring everyone together to work towards the common goals of the enterprise. BI strategy should emphasize on the integration of BI with the overall knowledge management environment of the enterprise. All components of end-user information delivery should be addressed in this section of the BI strategy. To name a few, it could be the use of standard reporting, ad-hoc analysis, OLAP cubes, dashboards, scorecards, notifications, and use of semantic layer, budgeting, planning, forecasting technologies, etc. The purpose is to provide users with action-oriented information and analysis capabilities in a collaborative environment. BI should be integrated with business operations to associate the results of BI with business activities. In this sense, BI should attempt to be both process centric and data centric. This involves integrating performance improvement and process management technologies. Traditionally, operational data store, enterprise data warehouse, and data marts that supply the integrated, consistent data are the core of the BI system. As BI is integrated with the business environment to achieve the broader business goals, traditional architecture must evolve to provide for a collaborative environment of the user-friendly technologies to enable better decision making along with process and performance improvement.

System Integration

The move towards unified platforms: Tools don’t just integrate anymore. Many vendors are now incorporating a mix of technologies such as Extract Transform Load (ETL), data quality, replication, metadata, and Master Data Management (MDM) data federation into their DI tools as they move their solutions towards a single unified platform.

Data Integration

Data integration is the combination of technical and business processes used to combine data from disparate sources into meaningful and valuable information. A complete data integration solution encompasses discovery, cleansing, monitoring, transforming and delivery of data from a variety of sources. A new era of computing is unfolding, bringing with it an explosion in the volume, variety and velocity of data. Integration of trusted data improves the success rate of critical projects and key analytics initiatives. Organizations of all sizes need data integration capabilities that fully support their business requirements. They need to integrate data wherever it resides – whether on the mainframe or within big data sources – while applying governance and data-quality best practices. And they need to support big data.

Resilient, Easy to Manage – Non-Invasive

Easy to Optimize and Tune – uses DBMS power

How does data integration help your organization?

Bonyan’s data integration solutions enable you to understand, cleanse, monitor, transform and deliver data, as well as to collaborate to bridge the gap between business and IT. Bonyan provides capabilities for delivering data in real time to business applications, whether through bulk (extract, transform, load (ETL)), virtual (federated) or incremental (change data capture) data delivery. With IBM, you can ensure that the information that drives your business and your strategic initiatives – from big data and point-of-impact analytics to master data management and data warehousing – is trusted, consistent and governed in real time.

Understand your information and foster collaboration between business and IT

Encourage a standardized approach to discovering your IT assets and establishing a common business language.

Cleanse data and monitor data quality

Analyze, cleanse, monitor and manage data, enabling better business decisions and improve business process execution.

Transform data in any style and deliver it to any system

Integrate data on demand across multiple sources and targets, including Hadoop, while satisfying the most complex requirements with the most scalable runtime available.

Mining The DATA

Data comes into your organization from a wide array of sources, both internal and external. Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Data Mining are key features within the realm of Business Intelligence that allow you to view data from a multi-dimensional perspective and drill-down to find what really matters. This ability to view your business information from numerous angles allows you to efficiently identify and respond to market dynamics. With OLAP and data mining, data analysis has never been easier. You’ll gain a clear understanding of your place in the “market ecosystem” and your ability to navigate safely and effectively as you grow your organization will be significantly enhanced.
  • Maximizing your ROI and getting the most out of intelligence hidden in your data warehouse
  • Reducing model development cycle time with faster delivery of analytic insights
  • Obtaining the scalability you need to build analytical models
  • Utilizing advanced analytic partner tools to run models directly in the database
  • Creating the analytic data set required for all other advanced analytic modeling tools
Once you’ve got analysis, reporting, and dashboards deployed, it’s time to take your business intelligence (BI) to the next level by adding data mining and advanced analytics. This is a level of BI excellence that many organisations never manage to evolve to, however the importance of pushing ahead with advanced capabilities cannot be underestimated – they can provide a truly sustainable competitive advantage and enable your organisation to maximise both its efficiency and effectiveness.

Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (DW/BI)

Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence have been considered increasingly important by companies in the past ten years. Data that cumulates daily, the ever more complex products, and the rapidly changing business processes all increase the need for preparation of decisions based on adequate data. Decision makers spend hours in search of information on a daily basis, while their employees spend an equal amount of time producing it. Our experts have accumulated experience at the most significant Telecom Companies, where they participated in and managed a variety of projects focusing on data warehouses. In the course of our projects, we have encountered all the phases of developing a BI solution, from various aspects.

  • Better decision-making
  • Data-based decisions
  • Better understanding of business operations
  • Maximizing profits
  • Opportunity for measuring and feedback
  • New business directions
  • Opportunity to evaluate the results of decisions
